American Idol Season 10 Top 13 My Opinion

Lauren Alaina -Lauren's cover of her idol Shania Twain's "Any Man Of Mine" wasn't all that great. I actually felt compelled to change the channel. It felt like karaoke at my normal spot on Tuesdays. Like a friend of mine who ended up in a karaoke competition and decided to try out for Idol. I wouldn't doubt that she will end up being the next one off if she continues to sing that same ol' song.
Casey Abrams - When Casey did Joe Cocker's "With A Little Help From My Friends" The Wonder Years Theme, I was in awe. From the beginning Casey has been a favorite and I enjoy his raspy voice at times with his cocky attitude. It suits him well and his bass playing is a great addition to something new that American Idol has subjected to new wannabe famous singers in the future.Hope he gets better as Ryan Seacrest opened up the results show stating that Casey was in the hospital.
Ashthon Jones - Her ego was a big as her hair. I just could not stand this chick and I am glad that the unanimous vote to not to keep her on the show happened on the result show tonight. Her Diana Ross look didn't match her singing anymore after she kept singing songs no one knew. I wish her luck in the future.
Paul McDonald -Great voice, bad dancing. I'm not a hater but I just can not stand the fact he has no dancing qualifications. Dancing like a chicken? Really? I understand you want to me a professional singer and want to be the NEXT American Idol but you didn't need to go broke by buying a $4,500 suit. Really? Try singing a song we know and we can clearly hear and comprehend. The wispy voice is cute but not all the time please.

Pia Toscano - So Pia Pia Pia.....What can we say about you. You chose a really hard song to sing, "All By Myself" by Celine Dion. You chose to sing it at the wrong time hun. You should have saved it for later. I understand singing it to make the Top 13 would be great but what happens when you don't have a great song for the top 3? This chick is great and has a good attitude but she needs to stop struggling at the top sometimes. Other than that, Pia's voice is guaranteed to make anyone have chills.

James Durbin -Our Hometown Hero. Yes I am rooting for our Hometown boy from Santa Cruz but remember, this guy has gone through turrets and issues with teasing throughout his entire life. He started out with Judist Priest and instead of Ozzy or some other Rock God being his Idol, he chose Paul McCartney. His softer side showed without the extreme shouting being overpowering. This will be the first Major Rocker in the top 10. Keep it up James, we are all behind you!

Haley Reinhart - After doing her version of "Blue" by LeAnne Rimes I felt so blah. Not for the fact that I don't really like that song or the yodeling but the fact that I don't think that the song really suits Haley. She could have chosen something completely different and wouldn't have been in the bottom three. I don't think she will be continuing very much longer but her sexy appeal and Taylor Swift looks will get her one more week.

Jacob Lusk - Ok, as a singer, I don't over exaggerate as much as this guy does. His version of "House is not a Home" was great and his voice is more mature than most people but come on! His version of R. Kelly's "I Believe I Can Fly" was way over the top. He lost his tone when he switched keys and it was just gone after that. He was probably in the bottom 5 after that but if he keeps going like this, he won't be on the show much longer.

Thia Megia -  As the youngest American Idol contestant in the past 10 seasons, Thia is a great singer but one issue. She has no personality. Yes it is hard to sing A Capella before the first note of a song is played but she needs to work on walking around, having fun, working the crowd and singing a song that won't make you fall asleep. She may be another Bay Area Native but she still has more work to accomplish other than being on the stage and showing the world she can sing. I give her the 8th spot. She will be gone by then.
Stefano Langone - Singing a classic, "Lately" by Stevie Wonder was a big task but his version just killed it for me. I can't believe he remixed this and the fact that J. Lo liked it and Randy said it worked out. I didn't think he would do anything good at all since he murdered my favorite song "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. That top note was something else, ear piercing and I felt like I wanted to do something. I probably could have sat through it if I were drunk off of a full case of beer, 5 shots of Patron Silver and a bottle of Makers Mark. He won't last much longer. I give him 11th Place.
Karen Rodriguez - LATINO'S IN DA HOUSE! Ok but to American Idol, a few songs in Spanglish is cool but trying to kiss J. Lo's ass by doing her idol, Selena? If J. Lo wasn't Selena in 1997 would Karen have done the song "I Could Fall In Love"? She was dressed in a Glittered covered Selena wanna be dress suit but her achievement of getting to that high note wasn't great. The pitchless tone and uncomfortable way she was walking around didn't seem like she really wanted to be on the show. Like she really couldn't handle it. No wonder she was part of the Bottom 3. Learn to sing something else than Latino Music. We understand your heritage and you want to represent but come on, really? I give you 9th!
Scotty McCreery - Scotty 2 Hottie!!! You are just so cute! I first heard your voice and felt compelled to listen to Josh Turner all over again! For being 17, his voice is just amazing. We love to help my boyfriend's hometown hero from NC but remember, later on there will be some tough roads ahead with R&B, Big Band and more. He seemed a little pitchy during the Michael Jackson covers. I hope you succeed and remember, you will always be viewed as a younger Josh Turner. We love you! I give him Top 5.
Naima Adedapo -Her dress designs, amazing Sade look and Erykah Badu sound made her one of the top in our book but when she did a reggae version of Rihanna's "Umbrella", we just couldn't believe it. She was all over the place, windy after dancing and singing, and it didn't seem like it was the Naima we first fell in love with. We were hoping she would be picked as one of the Judges saves and when she was the last one we were happy. Now I have no idea how to feel. Maybe she will change her ways and go back to the Erykah Badu/Lauren Hill/ Sade singer we know and love. Her dancing was great and the remix was cool but it wasn't her.
