Way Past Due

I know it's been a while since I have blogged and it seemed as though my blogs were not showing up but I will try this again.

Since the last time that I blogged, many things have happened Good and Bad.

Right after my 29th Birthday in March, two of my best friends passed away.

Mark Ivy 1955-2011

Mark has the uncanny ability to make anyone feel like a million dollars and would light up a room just by smiling. With his smooth singing, tender charm and positive outlook on life, he was the ultimate good time and a joy to be around.

Mark served in the US Navy where he played on the Navy football team as a running back. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2007, Mark switched his focus to increase the overall awareness of cancer and became a very active participant in the Cancer Society.

Even after death, Mark wanted to find a way to fight cancer. He asked that a donation is made in his name to the Cancer Society in hopes that his donation will be the one to find the cure. Please go to the website and make any donation you would like know that Mark does not want to lose anyone else to this disease.

Enrique Jimenez 1985-2011

Enrique was a great singer. He loved to go to different karaoke shows and sing his heart out. When I heard of his passing, I could not stop crying. Enrique was only 26 years old. He went out to party with a few friends, popped a few pills and drank some alcohol. It was difficult to go to his funeral. Seeing pictures on the wall of his smiling face, his nickname "Google" and the passion he had for karaoke was something you will never forget.

I've won a bunch of stuff through radio stations!
99.7- 4 Tickets to SC Boardwalk with unlimited rides
99.7 - paid my PG&E bill
106.5 - American Idol Finalie in bay area
94.9 - Britney Spears/Nicki Minaj tickets!!

I'm on a roll so I have to listen to other radio stations to try and win other things!!

American Idol Season 10 Top 11 My Opinion 3/30/11

So after last week's amazing Judge's save of Casey! Hope has been renewed for Casey but once again, there are going to be no more second chances as this week two eliminations will take the chance away from the contestants. They chose to do Elton John's famous songs so this is the chance to see who is going to make it to the top 9.

Ryan came out with a new haircut and nice button up suit jacket.

Scotty - Country Comfort
Wow, Scotty's photoshoot looked amazing. His Black suit look always looks good. He even did a little shout out to his Grandma. This was the perfect song he could have chosen. Guitar in hand and his low "Josh Turner" voice just makes this song seem like it was never sang by Elton John in the first place. Randy said he was so in the zone and so comfortable that he seemed as though he was watching Scotty at his own concert. Some people say they won't vote for him due to him not being one of the best but please do remember, he is 17, has a low sexy voice, and can make any song into a country song. That is hard enough as it is and he has yet to get a bad review. This blogger says, I WILL VOTE!!!

Naima - I'm Still Standing
Wow ok, she is going to turn it into a reggae song....WOW what a shocker?!?! NOT! I can't stand her versions of the songs she does. She seems like a wanna be Bob Marley. Some people in the audience stood up but when she asked them to stand, only the first couple rows stood up. Automatically all contestants get standing ovations after the end of the song. J. Lo said the same thing I said...not a good song to flip into a reggae version. It was cool but as Randy said, He loves reggae and it seems like it made the song kind of corny. Steven only said that she picked a song that fit her but her attitude towards the judges and their feeling about her singing seemed unappreciated. I beleive she will have the lowest votes and will be taken off tomorrow. Sorry but enough with the reggae versions sweety. Just for once, keep to an original!

Paul- Rocket Man
What a disaster again! I say again because Paul and his band did a cover of this song 5 years before and everyone hated it. Randy straight up looked like someone scratched a chalkboard with long nails. His voice is so tender and soft and doesn't seem to extend the notes but some songs he does needs to blow his voice out. His quiet comfort voice isn't always gonna make the girls coon but can you get away from the whispering and please start belting out some good songs?

Pia - Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me
SEXY!!!!!!!!!!! Not only is she sexy in that red dress but she is going to sing one of my favorite songs when I was a kid. Talk about goosebumps!!!! J. Lo was pretty much speechless. She made this song her own even thought yes it was another ballad but hey, its her type of music! Once again, I wouldn't doubt she is going to be in the top. This girl is really taking the cake but my question is, what will she sing next week that will not be a ballad? I mean please, make me get out of my seat and shake what my momma gave me!

Stefano - Tiny Dancer
After being in the bottom three, Stefano is going to have a difficult time getting everyone to vote for him during this hard song! Finally he opened his eyes and connected to the audience and I wasn't the only who noticed. He moved around, hit the high notes and even walked up to J. Lo to grab her hand as he called her his "Tiny Dancer" and even Randy stuck his hand out to grab it. Talk about a great moment. Even though he broke away from his usual routine, he did a great job on the song but didn't give me the goosebumps Pia gave me. Hopefully he won't be in the bottom this time!

Lauren - Candle in the Wind
This country girl did a wonderful take on this Elton John Billboard hit! It was a great pro version from her and the best performance she has done. All the judges loved it and it really makes her look amazing. She was pretty much speechless and the way she sings feels like she is taking on the challenge of being a future Carrie Underwood. She is gonna be such a hit even if she doesn't make it to the end.

James - Saturday Night's Alright
Fire, Fire, Fire!!! This was the best performance I have seen visually!!! He really worked the stage and sounded awesome! He started from the top of the rafters with the audience and decided to come down to the main stage. He walked past the judges and started walking among the crowd. He than ran to the stage again and jumped up on an opened piano that after he jumped down, got to his knees and it suddenly was engulfed in flames. J. Lo said he did a great performance by a great artist! She felt she was at a concert and not in the middle of a competition. Randy felt he was comfortable on stage with the fire, the crowd, and the singing.THE BEST!!!!!

Thia- Daniel
With the lights way down low, the ominous red glow with fog drowning the stage, Thia took on a song that she had to put more feeling into than any other song she has ever sang before on the Idol stage. It was a melodic song but it seems a little too safe for her. It was very good but overall I don't think she will get too far again. She sang this for her brother who had moved away when she was little. It felt very emotional but to me, this girl has more than what she is showing. I hope she will get enough votes to get one more chance but I won't hold my breathe.

Casey - Your Song
After the Judges save since he didn't get enough votes, I hope he can get enough this week with the great song! After a little make over, we can finally see Casey's true face. What a powerful song to sing and great performance from Casey! Randy said well done! I So agree and so does Steven. Steven even thinks of him as a true artist. J. Lo said she has lost sleep over sending people hope but she didn't lose sleep saving him. After asking him what he felt about being saved, he said he didn't take it too well and didn't seem like he was happy but he is happy now.

Jacob - Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word
What is with the stank and crying face?? I know that they said he is an over actor when singing but geez, can someone please tell him to calm it down? When he said he first heard it from Mary J. Blidge, I was like, "HUH?" Please tell me he did hear the original from Elton. The judges like it but Randy said he needs to get the one spot that makes him stand out! I just don't like him. Sorry. I still don't like his voice. Not my favorite and will never be. But this is my opinion.

Hailey - Bennie and the Jets
To me personally, it was just ok but hey she is good. I think this was a good song for her and it fit her voice. Randy thought it was the best performance of the night. I don't think so but hey, it's just my opinion. Steven thinks she sings sexy. She does have that raspy voice like Carley Simon and Janis Joplin. Even though Randy thought it was the best performance of the night, I still think James is the best all night topped with Pia.

These are my opinions and mine alone. Let me know what you think and tell me who your top 3 are from tonight.

Don't forget Tiao Cruz wants you to write a song that will be performed at the finale. http://www.americanidol.com/perfect_harmony/

Don't forget to listen to J. Lo's new song with Lil Wayne "I'm Into You"

Drunks and My Birthday Week!

There are different kind of drunks out there in the world.
1.THE ANGRY DRUNK: One of the most feared and talked about drunks. Angry drunks can often be found in trailer parks, clubs, and football games. Angry drunks are pretty easy to spot. They are usually the ones arguing the rules of a beer pong game or threatening to fight you if you look at his girlfriend/beer. Angry drunks can usually find work as a frat bouncer.
2. THE CRYING DRUNK: The Crying drunk is usually a category that is dominated by females. This type of drunk will dig up anything from their past to start crying. Most of the time that thing is an ex-boyfriend or something that a current boyfriend did in the past. No act is too small to be a catalyst for the Crying Drunk. Your cat died nine years ago? That’s perfect. Grover Cleveland lost the election of 1888? Let the waterworks flow! It is proper party etiquette to try to consol any Crying Drunk.
3. THE NURTURING DRUNK: The Nurturing Drunk is essential to any party. These Drunks tend to act the most like your mother. If there is spilled beer, the Nurturing Drunk is quick to be there with a rag and club soda. If someone is about to puke, the Nurturing Drunk will be there to rub his or her tummy and feed them water and bread. The Nurturing Drunk has typically been a category dominated by women, but a surprising number of men fall into this category. Frat guys, football players, are gym rats are all types of men that could be the next one to hold your hair back and tell you that you look beautiful in the shade of throw-up.
4. THE HUGGING DRUNK: Not to be confused with the Horny Drunk, Hugging Drunk’s are very content and loving drunkards. Hugging Drunks, obviously, spend the majority of their time hugging passer-bys. Anyone in an arms length of the Hugging Drunk is fair game. Also, every action at a party usually calls for a hug to the Hugging Drunk. Like, you just won beer pong! Let’s hug it out! Your girlfriend just fucked another guy! Put your arms around me, big guy! You have Chlamydia! Time for a hug, man. A sub category of the Hugging Drunk is the more homophobic High-Fiving Drunk (pretty self-explanatory.)
5. THE HORNY DRUNK: These drunks are, obviously, the ones that try to fuck anything that moves. These can be male or female. The Horny Drunk can be split into two categories: those who actually get laid, and those who go home alone. Horny Drunks are generally shady characters that carry roofies and mixed drinks. Horny Drunks are sometimes, but not always, Slutty Drunks that are going to fuck a guy at the end of the night, regardless of their level of attractiveness or martial status. The Horny Drunk is often the least socially acceptable of all the drunks, but, more often than not, the most desired.
6. THE FAKE DRUNK: These fuckers are the ones that act drunk, but are more sober than a Mormon on the Sabbath. Fake Drunks can usually be seen drinking “jungle juice” that is more juice than jungle. Fake Drunks also tend to carry around a 30-case of beer or a handle of Popov, but are never seen actually drinking any of it.

I usually don't drink but when I do, I get drunk, pass out and go home and sleep. I am the complete opposite of all of the above.
Tuesday was a great day as usually since my friends showed up for karaoke and I decided to do an early birthday. I have my Tuesday crew that usually shows up so I decided to drink as much as I could before I passed out. Now usually I am the Designated Driver but this time it was my time to out drink my boyfriend. Shot after Shot. Left and Right, friends gave me shots. Next thing I know, some drunk chick came up behind me and started to grab my ass and literally fingering my hole. I started to blush and my boyfriend and his friends started to see my jaw drop. My boyfriend wanted me to move so I went to the other side when this young Asian chick came in and started doing shots. Now mind you I am already 4 shots in. The first shot she did was a Blow Job. Now I've never had one but I pretty much have had a buzz for the past hour before she showed up. No more than an hour later she was drunk and had to be carried out by her friends. Talk about a Rookie. I already out did her.

Trying to do Karaoke drunk isn't as easy as I thought. I decided to do Heart - "Alone" and boy was it hard. I've done it many times before but I just couldn't stand still and see the words straight. I finally chilled and ended up passed out in front of the bar and my friends had to help me to the car. Apparently my boyfriend drove to the local 7-11 and ended up seeing me passed out in the car. Talk about emberassing.

Wednesday I ended up drinking at midnight to celebrate my birthday. Boy does Vodka mess me up! Face was red and my buzz became a headache. One of the bartenders made me a Brunch - Blueberry Vodka, Orange Juice, and Redbull, all equal Parts! What an amazing drink.

So for the past month the San Jose Sharks were going to have a "Coolest Game" in Morgan Hill and I decided to go and go to El Toro Brewery Company. The minute we walked in, it took over 30 minutes to sit us and as we walked up stairs we ended up sitting in the back where we couldn't see anything. No TV was great...pffffff. Our server Mack finally came over and took our order, low and behold no hard liquor so I had no alcohol since I don't like beer very much. I ordered a Sprite a some fries. As I waited for them my two friends Robyn and Pricilla came over and sat with us. As we waited a table became open where we could see a TV. Next thing I know it was getting more packed.

Just like a Sharks Game there was the chanting, waiting on food and crappy service. Mack finally came with the beer my boyfriend ordered over an hour before and it wasn't as good as was told. Where is my Sprite and my fries? I can't believe I still don't have them. Next thing I know I waited another 20 minutes to get none other than a Soda WATER! NASTY!!!! Once again I had to wait another 20 minutes and once again I got another Soda Water! Really!?!?! I couldn't believe it! I was sick and tired of getting nothing but finished my water already and had nothing to drink. I ended up getting one of our raffle tickets called to be part of a trivia contest.

I ended up going instead of my boyfriend so being one of the only girls up there I ended up doing pretty good. I got the first 3 questions right and even the announcer was pretty pleased with the results. He thought I knew a lot about the Sharks. Sharkie ended up coming over and messed me up on the last question so the tie breaker was "How many Points overall does Joe Thornton have?" I was first and said 625, second guy said 300 and the third said 925. The last guy ended up winning the Snuggie and I got a tee shirt. It was pretty cool knowing that I could compete with 40 and 50 year old men. Especially for a 29 year old woman. Not bad!

Back and forth the game made me freak out so many times. The last 3 seconds, Marleau scored. Talk about an amazing goal. Completly amazing! Finally a shoot out after no one scored in OT. It was awesome!!! After the loss we stayed for a minute and than found out my boyfriend won a Signed Puck from Douglas Murray #3. I really don't care much for autographed stuff since I can get that myself. But everything I have is signed and it's all mine. So no when he moves out he will have a signed puck for himself. yeah!

We drove to the next bar that we planned and saw our DJ. It was really nice to be somewhere where no one really knew us. Sadly no one showed up for my birthday until the last minute. Bryan showed up and we had a little fun. But I did wear my lucky shirt that says IITYWIMWYBMAD? This is my favorite thing ever! I have had over 7 drinks so far and I paid less than $10 for everything to make it.

Anyhow, the crowd wasn't my kind of crowd to hang with. Lots of drunk girls, Mexican music and humping. WOW! So I decided to leave a little early. Didn't really get drunk but got my DJ to buy a drink for me after asking him to figure out my shirt. It always works.

The next night was Friday night. I decided to go to the bar as usual as we do every Friday Night. Lots of people were playing the Barber Cut game to win the iPad but no one prevailed. Finally at closing time, I decided to take the last of my $3 and play the game. I could only play once as the game was $2. Never once I have ever got it right on the line. This time I got it. I make it across and got it to the right point. Than I looked to the other side and next I know I had the string right on the line. IT CUT THE LINE! I ended up winning the iPad! Talk about the greatest birthday ever! Video will be up soon.

American Idol Season 10 Top 11 My Opinion 3/23/11

American Idol Motown Favorites

Casey - "Heard it Through the Grapevine" - Marvin Gaye
From Nirvana to Marvin Gaye is a big step so watching this charismatic singer do a great rendition of Marvin Gaye's "Heard it Through the Grapevine" was awesome. With an addition of violin strings behind him it seemed Casey was comfortable on the stage singing to the crowd and working his mojo. He definetly controlled himself on some of the screaming and made the song his own. Rocking the red shirt and black suit it seemed he really cleaned up and went from the rugged construction worker look to a suited hot wedding singer. I have a feeling he will go far and get plenty of votes. Great opening song and hope the rest of the American Idols can compete with that.

Thia - "Heatwave" -  Martha and the Vandellas
From Last week's show doing Colors of the Wind to an uptempo Heatwave is a change for this 16 year old (youngest contestant in American Idol history). I loved the song and the fact I felt as though I was watching Sister Act all over again. She has the voice but learning to sing something else other than ballads is gonna be something she will have to learn. She is gonna have to take some chances. It was nice to hear something different for once and hope she can open herself up a little more.

Jacob - "You're all i need to get by" Marvin Gaye
There is not much I can say for this kid. I haven't liked him very much but to me he over exaggerates sometimes when he sings. I know he will be up there in the top 5 but he is a soul singer. He really controlled himself. If there was one thing he could do is not sound like a sheep and use too much vibrato all the time. I hope he can learn what to do to make top 5. Wow ok, Ryan had a few of the girls from the front rows get up and give him a hug.

Lauren- "Keep me Hanging On" - Supremes
A country girl went from singing Melissa Etheridge to a great rendition of this Motown dance song. She was in the bottom three in the past two episodes so I hope that she can get the votes she needs to stay in this competition! She may be white but it seemed the attitude came out of her like a black chick from the ghetto who's baby's daddy said he wasn't the father. She has her swagger is what Randy said. She rocked a great long dress in which she had to hold onto as she walked around the stage and sang to Randy. This country girl is gonna be alright for the next few weeks.

Stefano - "Hello" Lionel Ritchie
This song was a great version as I have heard this song a million times. The only issue he had was he still has yet to open his eyes and connect to people. I understand his intensity of feeling the pain with the song but it took me forever to learn to open my eyes. All the judges agree when it comes to opening his eyes and connecting with his audience. He just needs to take his time, listen to his heart and know that if he needs to connect with someone he needs to see them, not imagine them or be unemotional.

Hailey - "You Really Got a Hold On Me" Smokey Robinson & the Miracles
What is with the costume department? This is the 3rd person to come out with a white jacket. Hailey has that blues feeling and really has a rock quality to her voice. She did an amazing version of this song and seemed really comfortable towards the end. She may have been a little tight and off a little in the beginning but her attitude and her song choice was great. Her little growl was awesome and seemed like a Steven Tyler controlled scream. She really is soulful and was great this time. I swear in some points of the song she sounded like Micheal Jackson when he was a kid. Good choice!

Scotty - "For Once In My Life" - Stevie Wonder
At first was kinda scared to hear a country version of this classic from Stevie Wonder but wow, this kid can really make any song into a Country Hit!!! Even dressed in all black just like Josh Turner. His voice was just amazing and just made something into his own. The little wink made everything even better. To make anything into country is not that hard but for a Motown song into Country is really a little bit more difficult. That low note is just soooooo hot! J Lo said every time he does that low note it gets her every time! As for what Randy said, that low note is a Lady Killer. "Is the voice inside your head that deep too?" - Ryan Seacrest

Pia - "All in Love is Fair" - Stevie Wonder
A ballad again? Beauty, vocals, feeling, great...but......she didn't own the stage. She is a great singer and can hit a note with no problem but she needs to get away from ballads. Even Thia changed herself. Steven said she needs to put some sneakers on and kick some ass without doing a ballad! I think Ryan was more into her dress than anything. It was backless!!!!

Paul - "Tracks of my Tears" - Smokey Robinson
I would have to say that bringing the guitar on stage was a great idea but singing Tracks of My Tears was the worst idea Paul could have had. This is not my favorite performance from him and his voice reminds me of the lead singer from Matchbox 20. He is so unique but he makes it so Rod Stuart-y" and gets the girls on their feet. They love his voice but him singing other people's songs is very difficult.

Niama - "Dancing in the Streets" - Martha & The Vandellas
Oh crap, another Niama remix of a classic. I know I won't be happy with this!! This is American Idol, not So You Think You Can Dance. I mean come on Seriously? I would like her to sing a song without changing it. She may be a great performer but dancing is not what we are judged on. I understand loving your heritage is what is great but it didn't work for Karen and soon people will soon be annoyed. Keep singing but please try and do just ONE song without changing it!!

James - "Leaving for the City" - Stevie Wonder
This Adam Lambert look-a-like not only has the moves and sound but he rendition of Leaving for the City was amazing! This was a great closer and his high note once again gave me the chills! Randy thought it was a little rough but when he gets into the groove and gets his power he really gets into it. Steven thinks to get into this world we have to be a little crazy. He nailed it and I hope this Santa Cruz, CA guy makes it far!

Once again, as this week ends, this is my opinion and my opinion alone. Let me know what you think and who you think will be number one all the way through!!!

Monday Fun Day Free Stuff

OK guys, so it's been about 4 days since I last blogged about something. American Idol really isn't for everyone but hey, now you get to read about some cool stuff cuz it's Monday Fun Day!

I know everyone looks online for free stuff and wants to know where the best stuff is so here are a few things.

1. Sports Telecasts
I know, it's illegal but there are so many of them out there. Cable is too expensive and I am not willing to wait another 15 days to get an appointment to have them put in cable and charge me an arm and a leg and possibly my second born....first born already goes to the oil and gas companies. So here it is.
http://www.atdhe.me
http://justin.tv
http://www.sportshunter.com
You can pretty much watch almost any sport that is shown on cable TV.

2.  ZAGG
You really want to win that iPad everyone has! I know you keep eyeing that one that is at your local Mall or pub and you really want to cut that rope for only $2. BUT WAIT! Do you know how many people have already tried that before you and the people who will try after you spend that $20 you were saving to get the new shirt from =3? I mean really. The blades on those things are not that sharp number one and you have to wait a long time. Granted it is a good item but you can try your hand at winning through a contest rather than winning at a bar. http://www.zagg.com/community/contest.php Be sure to add this to your to do list every day! The only thing you do is enter your name, email, and press enter. If you want additional entries, share on Facebook and Twitter. Watch the video as well. They really do give one away EVERY DAY!

3. State Farm and the NBA hooked up to give you discounts on really cool NBA items and even free song and album downloads for free. Each time you play this 1 minute game clicking items that get in your way such as the cat, a tree, a pot hole, and even a T-Rex it makes the sound of half the theme song to State Farm. It is not that painful to play in fact, its kinda catchy and fun. After you finish playing you enter your information and click the Spam or not to Spam boxes and the fact you are 18 and over. Once you are finished it will tell you if you won 15% off at the NBA.com store or a free music download which sends you an e-mail. You only receive 3 points in which most single songs are 1 point a piece but try to save up and get 10 points which most albums are.

Now onto Free Ringtones and other Shit. Yes I said shit cuz shit ain't free all the time.

Most people already know about this but if you have been living under a rock or with the Geiko cave man, there is a really cool website where you can make your own ringtones. Yes not EVERYONE can afford an iPhone and be with AT&T or Verizon or even Sprint for that matter. Let's say your local band or a friend has a band who you want as your ringtone but they are not big enough for that. Maybe your favorite song just came out and you really want that ringtone but dont want to pay an extra 1.99 for it. Here is the website.
http://www.funformobile.com
You can make any song into a ringtone by just signing up, making your account and clicking on Ringtone Maker. Play up to the part where you want to start your Ringtone and press Set. You will understand it when you see it. Once you are done editing it you can finish it after you think it sounds good and either save it to your PC or send it to your phone. You also can go online on your phone and download it using the WAP number. for Eminem's Not Afraid Chorus: WAP Code Download: Enter 12769847  @  http://wap.funformobile.com/ This is the easiest way of doing it and cheapest.

Trying to make your mark on the world by watching your carbon footprint? Why don't you check out http://www.swap.com
I actually was scared at first to use this site but in the long run, I had so many books I no longer wanted and traded people for the ones I did want. I now have 37 different books from the James Patterson Collection! The only thing you pay for is shipping! They have upgraded to using PayPal so I haven't been on a little while since money is tight but check it out! They trade CD's DVD's, Books, and Video Games!!!

Last but not least is your local police, fire, and EMS. Have you always wanted to hear them during calls or wanna hear about high speed chases, DUI's, and arrests? Here is a website online where you can hear what is going on in your area. http://www.radioreference.com/apps/audio/
Choose the state you are located in. Than choose your county and look to the right side where it says  Launch the County Web Player. in the web player there are many different kinds of stations. Choose the one you want to hear and enjoy!

Be sure to let me know what you want me to talk about next time in my blog. On a fun note, watch this video. I promise it's not Rebecca Black's Friday Music Video. I wouldn't want anyone it endure the pain I did listening to that. And if you haven't heard it, go ahead and click it. Thank tell me what you think. This little girl I want you to hear is so funny you can show your friends while they are drinking milk they will freak out laughing so hard so get your mop ready! Little Girl Sings Whitney Houston and here is the Autotune Fail Version even funnier.

Till next time friends and thanks for reading my up to date info! Thanks new readers from Brazil, Puerto Rico, China, Canada, Russia, and Sweden! You guys are awesome!

American Idol Season 10 Top 12 My Opinion 3/16/11

Singing Songs of the Year the Contestants were Born....

Naima- 1983. Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It" This girl needs to work on her pitch. Randy said she was all over the place and J. Lo said she was ok and just gave her a pass last week. Steven said he liked it but that really doesn't mean anything. I think Steven doesn't know what he is talking about half the time. I think he is just out of work and needs something to do. Other than that I think it is time for her to go. Her African mixture into our classic songs is getting annoying..

Paul - 1984. "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" by Elton John.

His drunken walk and wailing arm says it all, he was definetly all over the place. His ending note was so off and his voice was completley horse. He sounded really sick. J. Lo said that he has so much quality and even though he has a sinus problem he still got the audience on their feet. Randy said he wouldn't give him a pass and he was pitchy through out half the song. But he likes the fact he can make the song his own. Steven agrees with Randy and defines him as a "cool dude with a loose mood". He seems ok for now but with a little more time and rest he will be back in no time. Hope he does well.

Thia - 1995. "Colors of the Wind" Vanessa Williams. Obviously this song means a lot to Native Americans and people who remember Pocahontas will love it. She seemed to go a little to quickly and I don't think she could hit the lower notes that Vanessa usually did but Randy said that the vocals were ok. Boos all around. He said he was bored and was at a pageant and it wasn't unique and she needs to take some chances. It just seemed so safe. Steven thinks she sang beautifully but she didn't sing the right song. J. Lo said she has an Adele quality but she was too safe and vibrato was too strong and didn't feel as though she was out of the box. I think she was a little too scared and the fact that she probably didn't really know the songs that were on the choice list. I wasn't too happy with it and the way she sang but whatever right?

James Durbin -1989. "I'll Be There For You" by Bon Jovi
Singing in perfect pitch since he was 2 years old. Rocking his leather studded headband, walking around the stage and hitting those high notes you know it's James. He seemed a little too pitchy to me in some parts but the kid from Santa Cruz is not that bad. Steven didn't understand singing to the dolls. He asked him not to get too poppy (as in doing pop music. Obviously some really good rock songs were released in 1989 but he didn't want to do them)...He said he didn't want to spoil Aerosmith and promised when he sings it for the finale, Steven agreed he will sing it with him. J. Lo loves it and he brings her so much joy. Randy agrees with me that he was pitchy but the fact that he didn't over due the high note.

Haley- 1990. "I'm Your Baby Tonight" Whitney Houston
Here is Whitney wannabe Number 1! Rocking the Spandex pants, high heels and bright red shirt. She looked like she fit the 80's but her voice didn't. J. Lo she says she (Haley) feels tense and doesn't know what to do. She is trying to perform and doesn't feel it naturally. Ryan licked his finger and wiped some make up off her chin. Randy doesn't feel what she knows what she is. From Alicia to Country to Whitney she doesn't know what kind of musician she is. Steven feels she has a Janis Joplin voice towards the end and she might be more blues than anything since her mom and dad were singers. She really needs to work on herself but as a young person, Haley needs to know that she needs to figure out who she admires and her voice sounds like. Took me years to figure it out.

Stefano - 1989 "If You Don't Know Me By Now" by Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes
This kid's runs are better than drinking coffee in the morning and ending up in the bathroom. His high note was great and he killed this song. Smiles all around. Steven "Beautiful phrasing" and "best performance of the night" said by Randy. If he connected more to the audience it would have been better J. Lo said. Had to show mom some love. This was probably the best song ever!!! I promise you that you would love this song if you download it on iTunes. All proceeds go straight to Japan Relief Efforts.

Pia- 1988 "Where do Broken Hearts Go" Whitney Houston
OMG Whitney Houston #2 wannabe again!!! Rocking what looks to be a one piece white suit...what an amazing voice. She got the audience on their feet but seems as though she was glued to the floor. No movement what so ever. Randy said You are why this show is called American Idol.Amazing vocals and is really in it to win it. J. Lo was happy she did something up tempo. She is perfect. Steven didn't even really get a chance to say anything. It wasn't terrible but please no more Whitney songs. I feel I am gonna want some crack after this show. (Whitney and Bobby Joke)

Scotty - 1993 "Can I Trust You with My Heart" Travis Tritt
Tritt proud. And while it was fine, it was nothing new from him, despite Jimmy Iovine's earlier advice that he try to "grow" this week. Steven said Keep knowing who you are and you will go places. I just hope at some point they will have him do some Josh Turner. His voice just makes me melt.

Karen - 1989 "Love Will Lead You Back"-Taylor Dayne
Don't really remember this song that well. She actually did something crazy with her hair. Like a Padame/Marge Simpson look. I guess she decided to go back and do a little more Spanglish as to put herself in front again and get those Latino votes. Randy: It's better than last week but he wasn't jumping up and down. Steven: Love the ethnicness. J. Lo said to play her strengths. Perform from the heart. She wasn't my favorite this week so I guess she is going to be in the bottom again!

Casey - 1991 "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana
Come on, first time using a Bass and vocals as well and being the first to sing a Nirvana song on American Idol in ten seasons. First of all love this song!!! I remember the video!!! Wow!!! Loved the lighting...
Steven: SO crazy and so talented, perfect match! J. Lo Big shoes to fill. (Kurt Cobain) It's got a little bit screechy and screamy. Wish it had a little bit more pleasant feel though. Still thinks he is sexy Randy: I love you put art first. Not best vocal but you are fearless and that's what we need! Gotta say this guy took a chance. It was great though!!!

Lauren - 1994 "I'm The Only One" - Melissa Ethridge
This song is great but with the flu, lets see how she does....Amazing voice and does the song justice. I've done this song sick and it's perfect so it's raspy. J. Lo she gave it country flavor and she made it her own. Randy: He liked it and hopes she has a cold every week. Steven: You are a shining star and agrees with Randy. I love the way she sang this. Hope that she chooses the next few songs wisely!

Jacob - 1987 "Alone" by Heart
OMG I didn't like this at all. The vibrato was too much and his breathing was crazy. He was just a little pitchy again! Randy: Very Nice out of comfort zone, lost yourself, didn't over power it. Steven: Gospel had a baby they would name it Jacob Lusk. J. Lo: You give yourself to every song, every moment and every note. You are so good. I disagree with the judges. I don't like him very much and his singing is best for old school songs but not rock. Stay away from Rock please!

These are my opinions and mine alone. Please let me know what you thought of these singers. Don't forget to download your favorites on iTunes now and all proceeds go to Japan Relief Fund!!

Black Eyed Peas Can't Get Enough and Lee Dewyze performing on the results show tomorrow on 3/17/11. Sorry I will not be able to watch due to St. Patrick's day and the San Jose Sharks Game!

Tsunami Victims and how to help

So this is a Blog I've been meaning to write in the past few days.

I know that I now have a few new readers around the world. Those of you in China, I want you to know that people here in the United States are not only praying for you but some people are trying to send you food, help and more. For those of you who want to help and don't know how, here is some info.

- First up, to help you make the most of your charitable donation, charity watchdog Charity Navigator has published donating tips and a list of charities responding. They will continue to update that list as they learn of more charities assisting with the relief efforts.
- Convoy of Hope's Disaster Response team established connection with in-country partners who have been impacted by the damage and are identifying the needs and areas where Convoy of Hope may be of the greatest assistance. The best way to help is to donate online at convoyofhope.org or text TSUNAMI to 50555 to donate $10 to Convoy of Hope's Disaster Response efforts.
ECFA (Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability) has created a link on its homepage for givers to connect with member organizations already assisting or poised to assist in massive relief efforts there. Through its "ServantMatch," donors can identify accredited organizations working to bring aid to the disaster area.
GlobalGiving.org has already launched the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund, raising funds which they plan to distribute to various efforts in the region.
International Medical Corps is responding to the health needs of the disaster's victims.
- Mercy Corps is now accepting donations for survivors of Japan's earthquake through their longstanding partner, Peace Winds Japan. Donations will be used to meet immediate and longer-term needs of the survivors.
- The Red Cross is asking for $10 donations to their relief efforts in Japan online or by texting REDCROSS to 90999 to donate from your phone.
- The Salvation Army in Tokyo is sending an assessment team to the city of Sendai tonight to assess damage and will begin providing basic necessities (food, water, etc.) beginning as soon as possible tonight or tomorrow.
- Save the Children is moving quickly to address the situation there. Donations to their Children's Emergency Fund will support this effort. To text your donation to Save the Children, text "JAPAN" or "TSUNAMI" to 20222 to donate $10.
World Vision has also announced global mobilization in response to tsunami warnings. To help, consider making a donation to their World Vision's Disaster Response Fund. To text your donation to World Vision, text "4JAPAN" or "4TSUNAMI" to 20222 to donate $10.
And here is a list of the text donation options for nonprofits providing disaster relief to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan:
- Convoy of Hope, text TSUNAMI to 50555 to donate $10
- World Relief Corp. of National Association of Evangelicals, text WAVE to 50555 to donate $10
- GlobalGiving, text JAPAN to 50555 to donate $10
According to the provider mGive: When prompted, mobile donors should reply with YES to confirm a one-time gift. The $10 one-time donation will appear on the donor's next mobile bill. All donations are tax deductible and receipts may be printed at mGive.org/receipt. Message and data rates may apply.

Blood is always needed as well. O+ and O- and any other rare blood types are majorly needed all the time. If you don't have any money, this is the best way to help. Please be sure to read the info including the fact if you have had a tattoo in the past 12 months, you can't give blood. Please help in anyway possible.
